The 7th-9th graders of Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex were hosted at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU).
The aim of the visit was to become familiar with the exclusive Museum of History of Armenian Dance located in the vestibule of the Chair of Dance Pedagogy and its Teaching Methods of the Faculty of Culture.
Lecturers of the Chair, including Tatevik Nikoyan, Taguhi Zakaryan and Arevik Gyulumyan presented to the pupils the history of Armenian dance, archaeology and the study of Armenian national costumes showcased in the four halls of the Museum. The visitors viewed the items linked to the dance rituals and were introduced to materials and museum samples, starting from the pre-Christian period and leading up to our days.
The Museum of History of Armenian Dance is unique in terms of its substance and significance and is the only one in Armenia.
The massive historiographical, archaeological works and the works devoted to the study of national costumes and dances which have been conducted, are aimed at improving the educational quality of those who are involved in dance, enriching their cognitive knowledge and enhancing their studies in dance, and this is exactly what the young visitors of the Museum stated.
