Rouben Mirzakhanyan, “We have a principle approach to conduct all changes in favour of students”.

It’s already the second day, the Pedagogical University’s Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan is having meetings with the final year students of the University.

The aim of the meetings arranged on the threshold of the final qualification examinations is to discuss the organization of the examination processes, to introduce the novelties connected therewith, listen to the questions and opinions that most interested students.

“We have a principle approach – each and every change must be conducted in favour of students”, observed the Rector and added that the pedagogy questions in the examination questionnaire would be substituted with the pedagogical internship scores which would form thirty percent of the overall score. Besides, there will be professional literature in the auditorium that will additionally assist in making a proper presentation.

“If after all these you still remain persistently silent, it will be an unacceptable demeanor first of all for yourselves.”
Next in turn, the lecturer of the Chair of Informatics and its Teaching Methods Samvel Asatryan thoroughly explained the new electronic examination form to the students.

He also noticed that last year the system was operated only in 3 Faculties of the University; overall, the students were pleased, and the system was a success.

“The previously known stressful condition is already in the past; straight after the answer the students will find out their scores. This kind of simple, transparent form of examination has also brought the subjective approach during the examinations to minimum. All we need is to remember that if changing the examination ticket, the score is reducing by twenty percent”, mentioned the specialist.

In addition, Samvel Asatryan highlighted that the system, that was still created in the previous year and further improved all by the final year students of the Department of Informatics, had already been innovated.

He noted that in the current year the members of the committee would not be able to leave the examination room and escape from the evaluation process, while the academic papers would be filled in automatically.

“We are living in an era, when we have to transmit to a comprehensive system of electronic testing and assessment of knowledge. The system was generated by the APSU and is the property of the University, and, in fact, the only one in the higher education system in Armenia. Work is being done and already next year it will be installed in the interim examinations as well. “

The fourth year student of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry, and Geography Elya Khachatryan summarized the day’s meeting in her interview to the aspu.am mentioning the following, “This was extremely important and necessary as we are rather emotional and anxious for the graduate examinations. Having information about the examination process will help us to get prepared to the maximum extent and to ensure excellent results”.

At the end of the meeting the students discussed the question that most interested them.
