From October 31 to November 3, a delegation of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) led by ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan was in Moscow to attend the events marking the 145th anniversary of Moscow State University of Education (MSPU). Kristina Tsaturyan, Head of the International Cooperation Unit at ASPU, and Armen Hakobyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Russian Language, were among the delegates.
A number of meetings were held during the visit. On November 2, the Armenian guests met with MSPU Rector Alexey Lubkov. The parties discussed students’ participation in the international summer school, as well as exchange of students in the framework of internship programmes. Alexey Lubkov expressed his readiness to support all joint initiatives.
On the same day, the delegation of Armenian State Pedagogical University met with Rector of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, Prof. Margarita Rusetskaya and members of the Academic Council. By the decision of the Council, Ruben Mirzahanyan was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.
“It is very pleasant to know that ASPU, among other strategic directions, attaches importance to the improvement of quality of Russian language teaching. Pedagogical universities are among our key partners. It is thanks to those educational institutions that the Russian language penetrates into schools,” said Margarita Rusetskaya.
In his thank-you speech, ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan stressed that Pushkin State Russian Language Institute is one of the best humanitarian institutions in the Russian Federation. “It is also a leading institution that specializes in the teaching of Russian as a foreign language. From this perspective, the structure can play a great role in the sphere interstate cooperation."
