The Russian delegates from Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University (MSPPU) who are at ASPU for a one-week working visit, continue meetings with ASPU representatives and familiarization with various structures of the University.
On November 9, the MSPPU representatives visited the “Chess” Scientific Research Institute of the University where they met Vahan Sargsyan, Head of the Scientific Programs. The latter presented the activity and mission of the one-of-its-kind institution.
He said the aim of the research institute is to show the educational value of "Chess" as a subject by studying chess teaching in schools, as well as reveal the possibilities of developing children’s cognitive abilities through chess.
He added that various types of research on psychological, educational and sociological aspects of chess teaching are being carried out with the joint efforts of experienced and knowledgeable specialists of the institute.
Let us add that the employees of the “Chess” Scientific Research Institute tested the "Egoscope" complex of objective psychological analysis and testing on the spot. The MSPPU students participated in testing the method of diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and got acquainted with FaceReader, a tool for facial expression analysis. This was followed by an active discussion, with the sides considering future avenues for collaboration.
Today, the Russian guests also visited ASPU’s Radio Fama - the first-ever university radio station in Armenia and were greatly impressed by what they had seen. They got acquainted with the activity, opportunities, projects and programs of the unique university structure.
The MSPPU students had a unique opportunity to be recorded on the radio intended for students. The program will be broadcast on radiofama.am on Friday, November 10.
