Lecturers and student from Switzerland are visiting the Armenian State Pedagogical University, where they will be spending their two-week internship. Eight studnets and two lecturers from the ASPU Faculty of Arts Education, having won in the competition organised within the framework of a project jointly implemented by the Zurich University of the Arts and the “Artas” Foundation, will be on a mutual visit to the Zurich University of the Arts in September.
The Dean of the Faculty of Arts Education Ara Hakobyan greeted the guests and hoped for the newly set cooperation to be of continuous nature and effective both for the Armenian and for Swiss students.
“This is one more important step towards fine-tuning internships to bring them to perfection, and it will allow not only to develop knowledge, get familiarized with one another’s pedagogical methods, but will also be a wonderful platform for cultural discourse”, mentioned Ara Hakobyan and wished the participants good luck.
What is more, in his interview with the aspu.am the Dean happily added that there was a big number of applicants for the competition. In his opinion, future art –critic cannot get acquainted with the European culture only through books; one gets familiarized with arts also by visiting various countries. In fact, a part of the everyday busy life of the Pedagogical University is also formed by visiting schools. The Dean assured that in addition to the programme, where familiarization with the pedagogical practice and methods are particularly highlighted, the Swiss students may participate in classes, create in art studios if interested.
Likewise, Ara Hakobyan mentioned that within the scope of various programmes the lecturers and students had had the opportunity to visit other universities, but this was the first cooperation with the Zurich University of Arts. The representatives of the Zurich University visited the ASPU a year ago, where they got familiarized with the activities of the Faculty and specialisations offered.
“Improvement of internships and expanding international cooperation is one of the operational priorities of the Pedagogical University. We are looking forward to the cooperation in this new format to be continuous and trilaterally effective for Armenian and Swiss student and lecturers as well as for pupils”, mentioned the APSU Head of Internship Centre Vahan Sargsyan and wished good luck to the participants of the programme.
