The opening of the first School of Social Entrepreneurship took place at the ASPU; the leading specialists of the field, around eighty persons, attended the opening ceremony.
The aim of the newly established school is to arrange regular training sessions with the involvement of leading and experienced specialists in regards with exchanging theoretical knowledge and practical skills for establishing social entrepreneurships in Armenia and abroad.
They provide necessary and important information needed for those who are interested in establishing business, for existing business owners, students, Startupers, specialists practicing in social sector such as social workers, sociologists, representatives of the sphere of culture, environmentalists, philanthropists, lecturers, volunteers and others.
The provided information will contribute to the establishment of a specific circle for those who make new steps and for experienced entrepreneurs, students and experts, investors and businessmen.
During the meeting social business ideas were brought forth, expectations were raised, and reference was made to social entrepreneurship in Armenia, its opportunities and challenges, as well as the common characteristics of successful social entrepreneurs were discussed.
The first training session was conducted by the President of the RA Social Initiatives Satik Badeyan and the founder of the School of Social entrepreneurship, the ASU Lecturer of the Chair of Sociology and Social Work, Candidate of Sociology Gohar Mkoyan.
During the interview to the aspu.am the organisers mentioned that participation in the sessions was free of charge.
The following session of the school will be held at the Pedagogical University on 16 November.
