The biographical encyclopedia headed “For Our Homeland” by the ASPU Director of the Scientific Library Tigran Petrosyants got published.
This book, published by the decision of the Academic Board of the University, is dedicated to the 310 students and graduates of the Pedagogical University, who participated in the three wars for Artsakh; students and graduates of the University had active participation in the Artsakh wars for recreating the independence of Armenia.
“From the first days of the movement, the ASPU lecturers and students, together with the Armenian intelligentsia and the youth, stepped up. In those days, the University began overcoming the numbness set in the Soviet years, multiple obscured pages of history of Armenia were disclosed and reviewed”, the former ASPU Rector, Doctor, Professor Rouben Mirzakhanyan mentioned in the preface.
The latter also noticed that during the 44-day war of Artsakh hundreds of the ASPU students had participated in voluntary activities, and 34 students heroically stamped their names in the unequal war.
“As an ASPU member, I considered it my duty to create such a piece of work even after the first war for Artsakh; but I wasn’t able to do it either at the first war, or at the April war. However, the scale of the 44-day war forced me not to delay any more. I do not know what kind of future we shall have, but I am absolutely sure that the participants and victims of the war from the Pedagogical University unconditionally fulfilled their patriotic duty to their homeland during the three wars for Artsakh. And in fact, it is a sound proof of the fact, that there is no issue of patriotic education at our University”, the ASPU Director of the Scientific Library, the author of the book Tigran Petrosyants mentioned in his interview to the aspu.am.
The latter also noted that the encyclopedia was titled “For Our Homeland”, and not for Artsakh, as our homeland is indivisible.
Eternal glory to our heroic victims, their devotion will never be forgotten.
