Winners of sports games announced

Today the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted the solemn closing ceremony of the sports games during which the participants received certificates, while the winning teams received the cups.

Among the competitors of the two-week sporting event organized by the Student Council were the teams of 10 Faculties of the University, the ASPU Basic (High School) College, as well as t Erebuni Medical Academy and Levon Sargsyan Medical College.

The winners were selected in chess, tennis, volleyball, shooting and national games.

Attaching importance to the sporting event, ASPU Vice-Rector for HR Management and International Cooperation Marianna Harutyunyan voiced hope that the two-week event helped revitalize the daily life of the youth and helped them have a healthy lifestyle. The Vice-Rector believes the two-week sporting event helped the future pedagogues to have a healthy body and healthy soul and fully hopes there will be more participants in the future.
President of the Student Council Paruyr Galstyan gladly noted that the initiative of the Student Council revitalized sport life at the University and sparked interest in sports.

Professor of the Chair of Sports and Chess Lilit Grigoryan congratulated the participants and the winning teams and assured that the Chair of Sports and Chess is always ready to help the youth and fill their lives with the rhythm of sports in order to make sport life more active at the University.

And so, the Faculty of Preschool Education won 3rd place in the shooting competition, the Faculty of Art Education won 2nd, while the Faculty of History and Social Science won 1st place.

In the table tennis tournament, the team of Erebuni Medical Academy won 3rd place, falling behind the Faculty of Foreign Languages (2nd place) and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics (1st place). As for chess, the ASPU Basic (High School) College won 1st place, followed by the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography in 2nd place and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics in 3rd place.

The Faculty of History and Social Science was declared winner of the volleyball tournament, while the teams of the Faculty of Art Education and the Faculty of Culture won 2nd place and 3rd place, respectively.

There were also winners of the national games, including the Faculty of Culture (1st place), the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography (2nd place) and the Faculty of Art Education (3rd place).

Summing up the competition, President of the ASPU Student Council Paruyr Galstyan handed over the victory cup to the team of the Faculty of History and Social Science.
