A three-tier education (BA, MA and PhD) with relevant curricula and programmes was introduced at Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan in the 2004-2005 academic year.

Enrollment in full-time Bachelor's degree programmes is carried out in accordance with the “Procedure for admission to state and non-state higher education institutions, according to the educational programme for Bachelor’s degree, defined by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.”

Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan implements Bachelor's degree programmes through on-site education and distance learning studies, as well as Master's degree programmes through on-site education in10 faculties, and through distance learning courses in 10 specialties.

The 1st round of the unified entrance exams for the 2024-2025  academic year will be held from January 20 to February 4.

Admission to distance learning courses for Bachelor's degree is carried out in accordance with the Procedure for admission to state education institutions, according to the distance learning educational programmes defined by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.” The list of specialties and number of seats is approved by the RA Minister of Education and Science.

Applicants participate in competitions for one profession of the given higher educational institutions.

The Admissions Committee set up by the ASPU Rector organizes entrance examinations which are monitored by the RA Ministry of education, science, culture and sport. In terms of content and organization, entrance examinations are organized in compliance with the requirements of the unified, centralized and inter-university examinations as prescribed by full-time Bachelor’s degree programmes.

Students need to have a minimum of 120 credits for the second cycle of (full-time Master's degree) educationwhich they complete in two years. The main requirement for the second cycle is the existence of the first cycle qualification. Master’s degree pogrammes usually offer specialized and professional courses, taraings, interdisciplinary programmes and internships.

The programme ends with a defense of Master’s Thesis.

Enrollment in Master's degree programmes is carried out in accordance with the “Procedure for admission to higher education institutions of the Republic of Armenia according to the educational programme for Master’s degree defined by the RA Government and in accordance with the "Procedure of admission to and study of master's degree courses (in-person and distance learning) of  Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovyan".
