UNIVERSITY MISSION
Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) after Khachatur Abovyan is a higher educational institution, with a primary mission to train and prepare under bachelor's, master's, PhD programmes educational specialists who are competent on the local and international labour market in the fields of education, social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, culture and art, have sound professional knowledge, abilities, skills, and social responsibility, are guided by and spread national, democratic and humanistic values. This is done by creating a student-centered learning environment, which is characterized by implementation of courses developed on the basis of projects and real cases, and by providing flexible educational programmes. After getting acquainted with local and international practices and conducting research in the fields of education, social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, culture, and arts, ASPU students will be inspired to become specialists in the relevant fields.
UNIVERSITY VISION
ASPU’s vision is to make the University a leading institution for different strata of society which, in terms of educational services provided, develops innovative skills, practical research capacity, knowledge-based creative thinking, ensures continuous development of an individual and instills national, moral, spiritual and universal values. The University will act as an institution that initiates and creates pedagogical ideas and models of professional and pedagogical activity, as well as an educational and research environment that introduces innovative processes in the regional education space. Implementation of this vision will be ensured by carrying out advanced fundamental analysis of perspectives for development of educational and cultural processes in the country, by studying and modernizing influence mechanisms of science and education in the economic, social and cultural spheres, by developing and effectively introducing universal inclusion principles and new teaching strategies, which will lead to the transformation of the teaching profession, with broad mastery of the 21st century skills.

The logic of development of Armenian State Pedagogical University is visible through guidelines for collaboration and participation, where the participation paradigm includes a set of activities aimed at creating a new culture in the education system, both at the PEI (professional educational institution)-society level and at the society-PEI level, while the collaboration component includes a set of steps that contribute to the formation of a relevant professional community based on professional development goals and interests.
