SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN MOUNTAIN AREAS

PROJECT PARTNERS are the Chair of Geography and its Teaching Methods of Kh. Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University, the University of Bern (Switzerland) and Tbilisi State University (Georgia).

THE PROJECT COORDINATOR is Ashot Khoetsyan, Head of the ASPU Chair of Geography and its Teaching Methods, Doctor of Geography, Professor

THE PROJECT AIMS TO:

  • create a corresponding training manual and Master’s degree programs;
  • provide exchange of students and young researchers of the three universities;
  • ensure cooperation with the International Geographical Union.

 

  

TRANSDISCIPLINARITY FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN THE CAUCASUS REGION | CAUCASUST

THE OVERALL PROJECT GOAL is contribution to capacity development for the universities in transdisciplinary teaching, specifically by:

• Introducing a number of new approaches:

  • Case study teaching format;
  • Transdisciplinarity in teaching and interdepartmental cooperation
  • Knowledge and experience exchange on promoting diversity and equal opportunities in the university policies and practice.

• Supporting young scholars as well as university-practitioner cooperation in problem solving on economic development via sustainable tourism development and transdisciplinary approach.

• Contribution of tourism content to building of the Caucasus scientific network.

The BTBF project has been initiated by the Zurich University of Teacher Education as a platform for exchanging ideas and professional discussions (community building), a set of best-practice and advanced tools (methodological support), a data collection place (research spot), and key-event newsfeed.
