The Pedagogical University organizes education for scientific staff through PhD, Doctorate and Fellow Applicant programmes. Postgraduate studies are organized in compliance to the list of scientific degrees approved by the RA ESCS and the SCC.
ASPU has been providing postgraduate education since 1938 on the PhD, Doctorate and Fellow Applicants degrees with the corresponding plans and programmes.
The Postgraduate Department is providing scientific staff in the following areas: philological, physical –mathematical, historical, chemical, biological, technical, social-cultural, psychological and pedagogical. Similarly, the Department provides education for state-paid students for the Pedagogical Institutes of Gyumri and Vanadzor, and Artsakh State University.
The Pedagogical University’s postgraduate programmes are also open for foreign citizens. Postgraduate studies offer full –time and distant learning courses with tuition fees and state-financed. The duration of full-time courses does not exceed 3 years, and the duration of distant- learning courses does not exceed 4 years.
When conducting research in selected specializations the PhD students enjoy the right to use the academic equipment, laboratories, computer technologies, library, study tours and the campus.
Since 2015, the functions of the University’s PhD Department have been transferred to the Department of Coordination of Academic Activities of the Research Centre.
In the course of the PhD Department’s operations, more than 1000 PhD students and Fellow Applicants defended Doctorate and Candidate dissertations.
