The Special Department is a subdivision at Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan which is directly accountable to the University Rector.

In performing its powers and functions, the Department is guided by the legal acts of the RA Government and Ministry of Education, as well as by the ASPU Regulations.

The activities of the Special Department are based on model documents approved by the authorized body. The activities of the Department also include registration of University lecturers, members of the administrative and economic, administrative and managerial staff, recruits and conscripts based on the internal regulations of the University.

The Special Department gives students Certificate (Form 26) which is to be submitted to the military registration and enlistment office for military service deferment.
