At Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), research and scientific-methodological activities are carried out in six main directions:

✔ Within the framework of thematic funding in accordance with scientific applications financed from the state budget approved by Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MoESCS) of Armenia.

✔ Within the framework of basic funding in accordance with scientific applications financed from the state budget approved by MoESCS of the Republic of Armenia,.

✔ Within the framework of departmental scientific research, in accordance with the topics specified in the annual individual plans of lecturers.

✔ Within the framework of the "National School Textbook" competitive program approved by MoESCS of the Republic of Armenia and the World Bank,

✔ Within the framework of other grant programs and other preferences.

The university conducts fundamental, theoretical, applied and experimental research in the fields of Armenian studies, pedagogy, psychology, cultural studies, information technologies, natural sciences and humanities.

ASPU has a teaching staff of experienced scientists, which includes members and corresponding members of the NAS of the Republic of Armenia. The university has professional councils for psychology, philosophy and pedagogy to train scientific personnel.

ASPU closely cooperates with the NAS of the Republic of Armenia and other organizations, such as the Institutes of Molecular Biology, Fine Organic Chemistry and the Erebuni Museum-Institute. The university's lecturers actively participate in national and international conferences, which contributes to the internationalization of scientific activity.

The results of research are presented in scientific collections, periodicals and publications through approved reports.
