History Museum ASPU

The Museum of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) was founded on May 11, 2004 as the Museum of History. The Museum operates under the auspices of the University Council and is chaired by the University rector. It operates under the auspices of the University Council, chaired by the Rector. The scientific and methodological guidance is administered by the Chair of Museology, Library Studies and Bibliography of the Faculty of Culture of ASPU.
The current exhibition of the Museum opened in 2012 within the framework of events marking the 90th anniversary of the University. The museum has taken innovative steps by becoming the first-ever museum in Armenia to launch an audio guide with the support of the izi.TRAVEL platform. The Museum regularly organizes temporary exhibitions, presenting interesting facts based on the materials of the University museum and other museums of the country.
The Museum has developed programs to address the particular requirements for people with special needs; it offer sign language interpretation and Braille signage.
Today, the Museum acts as an educational and cultural center, organizing various events, international and local conferences, training courses, educational programs and lectures for different age groups, publishing educational manuals, and providing university students with information materials.
The Museum continues to expand its cooperation with other educational and cultural institutions, international museological organizations, associations, and museums, stimulating the interest of students, researchers, and visitors in the history of the University and Armenian culture.
