———————————————————————————————————————————————————

The Library ASPU was founded in 1922 with 190 books. Over time, its collection was significantly enriched by receiving around 4,000 books from public libraries and Yerevan State University, as well as 3,000 Armenian studies and historical books from the Matenadaran in Holy Etchmiadzin.

In different years, the library has been headed by different people:

✔ Dukhik Movsisyan (until1961)

✔ Adrine Abelyan (from 1961 to 1995)

✔ Tigran Hovhannisyan (from 1995- to 2009)

✔ Since 2009, the director of the Library has been Tigran Petrosyans, a bibliographer, historian, culturologist, and journalist.

In 1989, the library received the status of a scientific library. As of 2021, the Library fund amounted to 513,017 unit books, including textbooks, educational and methodological literature.

The library serves around 18,000 readers through:

✔ Two lending departments

✔ Six reading rooms

✔ Specialized study rooms

Additionally, the library is equipped with modern technical resources and internet access.

The library’s collection is expanded through university funding and donations. It also maintains its own electronic literary database, containing over 17,000 textbooks, manuals, and dissertations in Armenian, Russian, and other foreign languages.
