The Faculty was established in 1959. Over the years, renowned artists, among them Karapet Minasyan, Hmayak Avetisyan, Edward Isabekyan, Hovhannes Zardaryan, Suren Safaryan, Ghukas Chubaryan, Ara Shiraz and others, have worked at the Faculty, playing major role in the development of education and art.

The Faculty has three exhibition halls-auditoriums decorated with valuable artworks.


Exhibitions of works by Faculty students and lecturers, as well as scientific conferences are often organized here. Graduates of the Faculty work in schools, HEIs and various cultural centers. Many of them have become famous artists and cultural figures.

Graduates of the Faculty can work as teachers of Fine Arts and Music in schools, museums, cultural and art appraisal centers. They can also engage in activities related to fine arts and work as specialists of Decorative and Applied Arts, and fashion designers.
