The newly-appointed Acting Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), has issued a message outlining her priorities to enhance higher education quality, drive research development, and reposition the University as a leading center for educational innovation.

“Dear colleagues, dear students,

It is with great responsibility and dedication that I assume the position of Rector of the University. It is a special honor for me to lead a university that I graduated from. It was here that the foundations of my professional career were laid, and returning to my Alma Mater today as Rector is not only a great honor but also a mission that carries a deep sense of responsibility.

My priorities will include the continuous improvement of education quality and the provision of education that meets contemporary standards. The University's educational programs must align with the reforms in public education, respond to the new requirements of the education system, and contribute to the progress of the sector.

I think it is important to create more engaging, creative, and forward-thinking professional opportunities for the University staff. The University should be an environment where every employee has the opportunity to develop their skills, come up with new initiatives, and contribute to the University's development.

We must provide our students with opportunities to not only receive a high-quality education but also to develop practical skills and competencies that are in demand in the labor market. They must be prepared to make independent decisions, demonstrate innovative thinking, and respond effectively to professional challenges.
We will pay particular attention to the development of research activities, strengthening the link between education and research, and expanding national and international cooperation. Our goal is to reposition the University as a leading center for educational innovation, scientific thought, and professional development.

As a graduate of this university, I am deeply aware of the importance of its history, traditions, and values. At the same time, I am confident that, on this solid foundation, we can build a modern, open, research-oriented, and competitive university,” Araksia Svajyan said in her address.
