On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of Armenia’s first Minister of Defense and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia (in 1999), Vazgen Sargsyan, representatives of the Student Council of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) visited on March 6 the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan. The future teachers paid tribute to the memory of the National Hero of Republic of Armenia, statesman and military figure, and laid flowers at his grave.
Later in the day, the group visited Vazgen Sargsyan’s House-Museum in Ararat village. The students had an opportunity to learn more details about the life of the Commander, his path, his political and military activities, as well as the important ideas that guided him in the struggle for the Homeland and the strengthening of statehood.
"Today was yet another opportunity to honour the memory of the great statesman and recall the values for which the Sparapet (Commander) lived and fought," President of the ASPU Student Council Paruyr Galstyan said emphasizing the importance of the initiative.
