ASPU hosts representatives of Panteion University

The Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted Director of the Library at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences (Greece) Constantia Kakali and historian-librarian Aikaterini Kantiotou.

Held as part of the Erasmus+ International Mobility Programme, the aim of the visit was to strengthen the bilateral cooperation, exchange professional experiences and expand the opportunities for future cooperation.

The Greek colleagues met with representatives of the ASPU Department of International Cooperation and were introduced to the University’s history, established traditions and the achievements that the University has made in the international arena.

During the visit, the guests also paid a study visit to the ASPU Library where the Library’s Director Tigran Petrosyants presented to the guests the structure of the literature in the humanities reading room, the electronic and printed directories, as well as the process of record-registering and entering books.

During the meeting, the parties also shared information about the stocks of their respective Libraries. According to the Greek colleagues, the Library of Panteion University houses nearly 140,000 units of printed materials devoted to social and political sciences, as well as nearly 300,000 units of electronic literature. In his turn, Tigran Petrosyants talked about the opportunities that the ASPU Academic Library has to offer, noting that it features approximately 400,000 printed literature and more than 500,000 units of electronic literature.

At the end of the visit, Tigran Petrosyants donated some of his books, as well as the traveler’s novel “The Armenians” by Mitsos Alexandropoulos (translated into Armenian in 1984) to the Library of the Greek University.
