The start of the new academic year was also heralded at the Base College (High School) of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), and this year, 158 pupils got admitted in the 10th grade at the educational institution.

For them, Knowledge and Scholastics Day was an opportunity to express themselves in a new environment, discover professional interests and shape clearer notions of the future.

The University’s administration, led by Acting Rector Lilit Mkrtchyan, also met with the pupils and congratulated them.

Mkrtchyan asked the newly admitted pupils of different cohorts about the motives behind their respective choices of profession and also inquired about the professions and jobs they envision for the future, as well as their far-reaching goals and dreams.

During the meeting, Lilit Mkrtchyan underscored the importance of the right choice of profession and urged the pupils to not be afraid to dream big, and to turn their dreams into specific goals and consistently work on implementing them. “Follow your dreams, but be able to turn them into goals and implement them. The world is changing very rapidly, and in these conditions, it is important to constantly learn, grow and be ready for new opportunities,” Lilit Mkrtchyan noted.

She also attached importance to the ability of the learners to think independently and have trust in their own strength, emphasizing that they need to take advantage of the high school years to not only deepen their knowledge, but also discover their own potential and interests.
