ASPU hosts representatives of Embassy of Hungary in Yerevan  

The Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted on Monday Ms. Alexandra Csizmadia, Chargé d’Affaires of Hungary in Armenia, Mr. Péter Tarcsay, Consul at the Embassy of Hungary in Armenia, and Dr. Natália Váradi, a lecturer and professor at the Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute named after Ferenc Rákóczi II.

 

During the meeting with the ASPU leadership, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of education, as well as steps aimed at developing and expanding ties between educational institutions in Armenia and Hungary.

 

Acting Rector of ASPU Lilit Mkrtchyan expressed their willingness and readiness to cooperate in various domains. She emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with international partners and exchange of mutual experience.

 

The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation between ASPU and HEIs in Hungary. In that context, they particularly emphasized the possibilities for academic mobility and implementation of joint educational and research programs with Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPCU).

 

Ms. Alexandra Csizmadia, Chargé d’Affaires of Hungary in Armenia, presented the main areas of the Embassy’s activity and underscored cooperation with universities. At the same time, she highlighted the importance of the activity of the Chair of Armenian Studies (Armenology) at PPCU, noting that it does significant work to advance Armenian studies in Hungary.

 

Speaking about the Hungarian Center operating within ASPU Alexandra Csizmadia expressed her willingness to support the Center and the process of various programs implemented by the Center.

 

The parties also emphasized the need to deepen cooperation on initiatives of mutual interest.

 

The meeting was followed by lectures. Natália Váradi from the Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute named after Ferenc Rákóczi I, presented a report on Hungarian Revolution of 1956. She also addressed the connections between Transcarpathia and the Revolution.

 

Consul Péter Tarcsay also delivered a speech on the history of Hungary.
