The Faculty opened in 1922. Both experienced and young lecturers engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities, as well as scientist-pedagogues work at the Faculty. Many of them are authors of school or university textbooks, and their articles are regularly published in international journals with citation database (like SCOPUS, RINC, etc.)

The Faculty collaborates with organizations dealing with issues in preschool and elementary education in Armenia and the Diaspora, thereby providing students with the opportunity to expand and deepen their professional skills and abilities. Lecturers and students of the Faculty participate in various scientific events presenting joint reports, and do volunteer work in kindergartens and schools in Armenia.

The Faculty also participates in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility. Since 2015, the best students of the Faculty taking Bachelor's and Master's programs have spent one semester at the University of Oulu in Finland.

Graduates majoring in Preschool Pedagogy and Methodology can work in preschool institutions, kindergartens, and in development centers as tutors, pedagogues and methodologists. Graduates with Master’s degree can also work in educational and research institutions implementing primary, secondary and higher education, as well as in community and governing body of the educational institutions.
