The leadership of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and Acting Rector of ASPU Lilit Mkrtchyan attended the extended session of the Faculty of Fine Arts.

Lilit Mkrtchyan says the first moth of her tenure in office was a ‘research’ period: she studies the weaknesses and strengths of the University's units, the resources they need to rely on, succeed and move on. She says together they will draft the University's strategic development plan for 2026-2030, where each faculty will have its own role, mission and development trends. In that regard, Lilit Mkrtchyan emphasized the importance of transparent working methods, responsible approach, and discipline.

In his report, Ara Hakobyan, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education, presented the Faculty's activity in the current year.

He said the structure has continued its mission, that’s to develop the professional environment and ensure high-quality teaching, strengthen cooperation on local and international educational and cultural platforms, and contribute to the training of young educators.

Ara Hakobyan also spoke about the scientific, pedagogical, and collaborative projects and events planned and implemented by the chairs, emphasizing that they have ensured the full implementation of all academic programs.

“In pursuit of ensuring the outcomes of educational programs, the Faculty has regularly conducted open-class lectures using new modern methods, mutual listening sessions, and participated in trainings dedicated to new educational modules," noted Ara Hakobyan and presented other works carried out by the institution, Ara Hakobyan said and presented the work carried out by the structure he heads.

Mr. Hakobyan added that the volume of activity at the Faculty has undergone qualitative improvements, in line with the University's quality assurance policy.

The dean of the Faculty of Art Education also suggested organizing professional trainings, including in "Art," continue deepening and expanding the scope of cooperation, develop grant programs and submit them to local and international competitions, re-equip the material and technical base in line with modern challenges of professional higher education
expand international cooperation, etc.

Acting Rector of ASPU Lilit Mkrtchyan considers the educational setting to be one of the key factors in education. It is important and diverse at the Faculty of Art Education, and that makes studying more attractive.

Lilit Mkrtchyan stressed the importance of the new "Crafts and Arts" specialty in the Faculty, which meets the new standard of general education. She noted that today the world attaches importance to the component of art in the development of science, thanks to which the value system is formed.

In that context, she emphasized the University’s role, from creating the idea to solving the problem, and voiced hope that thanks to cooperation, it will be possible to achieve the desired result.
