Professional orientation — one step towards an informed future

The annual “Professional Orientation” festival continues at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), with the participation of 35 schools and 455 pupils.
Today, ASPU Acting Rector Lilit Mkrtchyan talked to the participants of the festival about the right and informed choice of profession.
Mkrtchyan attached importance to the process and emphasized that the packed auditorium goes to show that the pupils are interested in the educational festival and that most of them will surely become students of the ASPU.
Lilit Mkrtchyan urged the pupils to talk to the students and professors, discover the University’s Faculties and professions and the paths to education and science by visiting the several exclusive booths.
The ASPU Acting Rector also shared her experience in professional orientation, advised the pupils to be steadfast and responsible in their decisions and assured that the University is open and ready to help and guide them in solving their various issues.
President of the ASPU Student Council Paruyr Galstyan also attached importance to professional orientation and the right choice of profession. According to her, the Armenian State Pedagogical University is the university that keeps up with the challenges that are changing on a daily basis and finds the important paths to resolving them.
During the “Professional Orientation” festival, the ASPU was presented in various directions, and the event organizers voiced hope that the event will definitely help pupils find the professions that will truly correspond to their dreams.
During a discussion on “Professions of the Future”, the special guest of the day — management expert, influencer Davit Mejlumyan — noted that no matter how much the times change, the teaching profession will remain irreplaceable, adding that teachers are the ones who shape a mindset, a value system and give direction for all other specialists of the future. “Today, when we talk about professions of the future, it is important to understand not only what new skills are required, but also what kind of a person the specialist has to be, and here is where teachers play a pivotal role since they are the ones who inspire, discover capabilities and help one choose the right path,” he said.
