ASPU expanding cooperation in general education sector

The Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and Yerevan Basic School #35 after N. Gogol today concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), which was signed by Acting Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University Lilit Mkrtchyan and the School’s Principal Tatevik Yesayan.
The aim of the MoC is to deepen the University-School cooperation, fostering the development of learners’ learning and research capabilities, ongoing improvement of teachers’ professional capabilities, as well as the introduction of modern teaching technologies and innovative methods in the STEM disciplines in the educational process.
The cooperation envisages the organizing of joint seminars, lectures, project tasks, meetings for experience exchange and other educational initiatives that will help improve the quality of education and modernize the educational environment.
Lilit Mkrtchyan highlighted the importance of the School-University cooperation, noting that it is necessary to map the problems and develop programs for their solution in order to overcome the current challenges in the general education sector effectively.
The parties also considered the actions aimed at increasing the role of teaching practice in schools and ongoing improvement of the process, attaching importance to the strengthening of students’ professional capabilities, the use of theoretical knowledge in practice and effective involvement in the school environment.
