Hrair Balian, Armenian American PhD in Law and peacebuilding expert, delivered a public lecture at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU).

During the meeting, the speaker talked about the currently unresolved conflicts in international relations and shared his professional observations about their resolution and the establishment of peace as he touched upon the characteristics of the emergence and evolution of conflicts, the potential routes for overcoming them and the factors that have an impact on effectiveness of peace processes.

During the lecture, Hrair Balian also presented his book “Unfinished Peace” released in 2026, sharing the story behind it, as well as the main ideas and research-based approaches.

Acting Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University Lilit Mkrtchyan attached importance to the role of these meetings in shaping student’s professional outlooks and analytical thinking.

The participants of the meeting discussed issues about overcoming conflicts and shaping of the culture of peace.

Dean of the ASPU Faculty of History and Social Science Edgar Hovhannisyan attached importance to the conduct of such meetings, underscoring the importance of discussions from the perspective of professional experience and alternative observations regarding various issues.
