Dear students, professors and employees of the Armenian State Pedagogical University, citizens of the Republic of Armenia,

Today we celebrate the 35th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Armenia. Independence is not just a major milestone on the path that our country has taken. It is about our choices, work, responsibility and our attitude towards the future.

As a pedagogical university, we have a special responsibility on this path because the future of an independent Armenia is shaped also in the classrooms of universities, in schools and at the moments of encounters between teachers and pupils. It is our duty to educate a generation that knows its history, values its State, has critical thinking, respects their and others’ rights and is ready to serve their knowledge and capabilities for the development of Armenia.

A strong country starts from an educated, responsible and dignified citizen.

Today, on the 35th anniversary of independence, I wish our country peace, stability, development and unity, and I wish each of us faith and daily work for a stronger Armenia.

May our independent not only be maintained, but also be reinforced through knowledge, education, work and responsibility.
