From 13 to 17 April, Syuzanna Grigoryan, Head of the Chair of Art History, Theory and Cultural Studies at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), was at the University of Valladolid, Spain, as part of the Erasmus+ international mobility program.
The packed agenda of the international week held at one of the oldest educational institutions in Spain featured both cultural events and professional discussions.
Candidate of Art History, and Associate Professor Syuzanna Grigoryan delivered lectures, introducing the audience to the history of Armenian culture and contemporary global art trends.
During the lecture on “Medieval Armenian Art,” international students and lecturers were introduced to the distinctive features of Armenian architecture, art of khachkar (cross-stone) making and miniature painting, and during the lecture on 'Contemporary Digital Art' the sides explored the possibilities of combining technology and creative work, which are now transforming the way of how art is perceived.
While in Spain, Suzanna Grigoryan also held working meetings with her Spanish colleagues and representatives of educational institutions.
'In a warm and constructive atmosphere, we discussed the possibilities of strengthening ties between the two universities [in question], in particular, the prospects for joint educational initiatives in the field of art and new exchange visits,' Syuzanna Grigoryan said in an interview with aspu.am.
