Guide for Admission of Diaspora and Foreign Students

 

Application Procedure

International applicants must submit their applications through the official admission platform of the Republic of Armenia: fs.emis.am

Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the available study programmes, admission requirements, tuition fees, and application deadlines published on the platform before submitting their applications.

 

Registration Period: June 22 – September 30, 2026

 

Required Documents

Applicants are generally required to upload the following documents through the admission platform:

  • Valid passport
  • Diploma(s) and academic transcripts
  • Certified translations of educational documents (where applicable)
  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Medical certificate
  • Completed online application form

 

Depending on the selected programme, additional documents such as proof of language proficiency, motivation letters, portfolios, or other supporting materials may be requested.

Degree Programmes

The Armenian State Pedagogical University offers:

  • Bachelor's Degree Programmes (BA) – 4 years
  • Master's Degree Programmes (MA) – 2 years
  • Preliminary courses for students who have lower rates or want to develop their competencies. Please follow the link to find out the professions for preliminary courses.

Detailed information on academic programmes is available on the official admission platform.

Note: According to the regulations of the state admission system of the Republic of Armenia, direct application to preparatory courses is not available.

Applicants must first apply to a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme through the official admission platform and participate in the university's internal admission examination. Applicants who do not achieve the required result for admission may be offered enrollment in a preparatory course.

Preparatory courses are designed to improve language proficiency and academic readiness, enabling students to continue their studies in a degree programme during the following academic year.

Available Courses

Preparatory courses are offered in:

  • Armenian language
  • English language
  • Russian language
  • German language

For the 2026–2027 academic year, the duration of the preparatory programme is 5 months.

 

Internal Admission Examination

The university's internal examination is generally conducted as a written test.

For Armenian-language programmes, the examination may include a dictation component intended to assess applicants' language proficiency and readiness for academic study.

 

Residence Permit Support

Following official registration by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, ASPU assists international students with the residence card application process.

Applications typically begin during August–September, while the residence card is generally issued within 1–2 months. The residence card remains valid for the duration of the student's official enrolment at the university.

 

Visa Information

Visa and entry requirements vary according to nationality. Applicants are advised to consult the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia for the most up-to-date information regarding visa procedures, entry requirements, and country-specific regulations.

 

Accommodation

Please note that the Armenian State Pedagogical University does not currently provide dormitory accommodation. International students are responsible for arranging their own housing in Yerevan.

Steps a Student Should Follow

 

  • Research: Browse programmes, fees, and requirements on fs.emis.am
  • Prepare documents: Passport, diplomas, transcripts, translations, photo, CV, medical certificate
  • Apply online: Submit application on fs.emis.am between June 22 – September 30, 2026
  • Receive admission decision: Either accepted into BA/MA or offered a preparatory course
  • Take the internal admission examination: Written test
  • Handle visa/entry: Check MFA Armenia website for country-specific requirements & request a visa support from the International Department of ASPU (interdep@aspu.am)
  • Apply for residence card: ASPU assists; process starts August–September, takes 1–2 months.
