ASPU, National Center for Folk Music and Dance discuss possible cooperation

On April 22, 2026, the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted Armen Sargsyan, Director of the National Center for Folk Music and Dance of Armenia, and Artur Gasoyan, Deputy Director of the same Center.

During the meeting with the ASPU leadership, the parties discussed the possibility of the University’s participation in the large-scale event organized by the Center on April 29 as part of the celebrations dedicated to International Dance Day.

Acting Rector of ASPU Lilit Mkrtchyan expressed willingness and readiness to cooperate with the Center in different fields of art.

Lilit Mkrtchyan stressed the importance of the educational environment and student involvement in a wide range of initiatives. She also described dance as an essential component of national identity.

Armen Sargsyan voiced hope that a new partnership will start with ASPU, noting that it [ASPU] is an important institution for the country, the ‘root’ of educational institutions.
