Lilit Mkrtchyan, Acting Rector of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), attended on Tuesday the extended session of the Council of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology.

She thanked the Faculty representatives for the work done and emphasized that the Faculty's teaching staff have professions that are among the most practical and important ones in the modern world.

Lilit Mkrtchyan emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation and presence of various laboratories, scientific research activities and work with schools, as well as cooperation with leading foreign specialists. She considered quality to be an important prerequisite for the development of the University. "The Pedagogical University is the most important link. This is where a pedagogue, the person who shapes the future of generations, is educated and brought up. Whatever value system we use to educate teachers, the same value system, our society will have," she said.

"2025 has been a year of sustainable development, quality improvement and modernization. We have achieved important results in the educational, scientific, international, and managerial spheres. At the same time, there are problems that still demand efforts and solution especially in the areas of stakeholder engagement, strengthening of the logistical base, scientific and research infrastructure," Dean of the Faculty Ruzanna Petrosyan said during the meeting.

She added that 2025 has been a period of transformations, achievements, and challenges. She then presented the mission of the Faculty and the activities stemming from it, emphasizing that they were aimed at ensuring high-quality education for specialists in the fields of psychology, social pedagogy, sociology, and social work, promoting the development of scientific research abilities and expanding international cooperation.

The Dean also spoke about international processes, scientific research activities, and the quality assurance process, in that context emphasizing the importance of establishing an educational and scientific research laboratory in the Faculty.
