Chair of Romano-Germanic Languages and their Teaching Methods

The Chair was established in the 2000-2001 academic year and was meant to provide teaching of foreign languages in the Faculty of Russian Philology and Romance and Germanic Languages.

TTo bring the Chair into line with the new educational standards and as a result of structural changes in the University, the Chair was renamed Chair of Germanic Languages.

In the 2007-2008 academic year, a new academic discipline - Translation Studies - was introduced in the Chair as an optional or additional course, which includes a full set of practical translation courses and is aimed at developing written and verbal translation skills.

The Chair of Romance and Germanic Languages and their Teaching Methods was established after the merger of the Chair of Romance languages and Chair of Foreign Language Teaching Methods.

Five professors, 11 associate professors, 14 lecturers and one specialist work in the Chair.
