Chair of Foreign Literature

The Chair was renamed in the mid-1930s, after splitting from the joint Chair of Literatures of the Faculty of Philology (in the 1930s) and the Chair of Russian Literature (a few years later).

Famous scientists have worked in the Chair, among them A. Grigoryan, an academician of the Academician National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA), Professors P. Sahakyan, E. Nuralov, K. Matinyan, T. Simyan and many others.

The Chair actively participates in different scientific and educational events. It has received many diplomas and letters of appreciation.

Since 2007, the Chair has been organizing conferences and publishing materials. To date, 14 interuniversity conferences have been held at the Chair which have been attended by representatives of different chairs of ASPU, YSU, V. Brusov State University, Institute of Literature after M. Abeghyan,as well as degree seekers and MA students of ASPU. The materials of the conferences (over 114 articles) are available in the yearbooks of the Chair.
