The Chair of Russian Language its Teaching Methods, established in 1922, is one of the leading centers to provide teaching of Russian language in Armenia.

The Chair carries out research in different directions, including theoretical, methodological and lexicographical research and textbook compiling.

In 2017, ASPU and Pushkin State Russian Language Institute (Moscow, Russia) signed a memorandum of cooperation which further contributes to the teaching of Russian language at ASPU, testing, improvement of professional qualifications, and training of specialists.

Within the framework of the agreement, joint Olympiads and different competitions aimed at improving knowledge of Russian language literature and culture are organized at the Chair.
