➜ Philosophy as a subject has been taught in Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) since the 1940s of the 20th century, first in the Faculties of History and Philology, and then in the Faculties of Education, Psychology, and Sociology.


➜ The All-University Chair of Philosophy and Logic was founded in 2012, and was renamed Chair of Philosophy and Logic named after Academician Georg Brutian in 2016.


➜ Three Doctors of Philosophy, three Candidates of Philosophy, and one lecturer work at the Chair.


➜ Since 2011, the Professional Council for Philosophy (062) of the RA Supreme Certifying Committee chaired by Professor Robert Jijyan has been operating at ASPU. The Chair has its periodical “Wisdom” (http://wisdomperiodical.com).



➜ The International Institute of Metaphilosophy, Argumentation and Armenian Studies financed by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports operates under the Chair. The Institute implements the program “Problems of Transforming Society: Methodological, Historical and Linguistic Perspectives”.


➜ The Chair collaborates with a number of foreign universities, international research centers, and prestigious international journals. It also actively cooperates with the Armenian Philosophical Academy (https://apha.am/en/).


➜ The Young Philosophers'  Group also operates under the Chair, which is composed of students from students, particularly those majoring in "Social Sciences."
