Developing Reading Literacy Through Integrated Information Recognition And Processing

The project is co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants, provided by the International Visegrad Fund. The Fund’s mission is to promote ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

The aim of the project is to develop reading literacy through integrated methods of information perception and analysis, and to disseminate and pilot an already developed intervention program (IP) aimed at enhancing reading competencies.

The project is based on recent research findings that have identified key predictors of reading skill development. These innovative materials have been developed in several European languages, including native (Slovak, Hungarian) and foreign languages (English, German, French, Spanish).

Project Coordinator: Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia.
Partners: Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, Prague University of Economics and Business, University of Bielsko-Biała in Poland, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Hungary, and Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës in Albania.

In Armenia and Albania, the program will be implemented through workshops, training sessions, and pilot teaching, with the goal of improving both the methodological skills of foreign and native language teachers, and the reading skills of students. Additionally, the program will contribute to the recognition of misinformation, and the development of critical analysis and data credibility assessment skills.
