The Department for Admissions and Preparatory Programs is a structural unit of the University which is responsible for carrying out educational and outreach activities. It has been operating since April 2007, and its activities are aimed at providing career guidance to prospective applicants, offering consultations on the admissions process, and helping students prepare effectively for entrance examinations.

By a decision of the ASPU Academic Council taken in February 2026, the Department of Applicant Attraction was renamed Department for Admissions and Preparatory Programs.

The Department organizes and offers both long-term (five months) preparatory courses and short-term (three months) accelerated courses for citizens of the Republic of Armenia and foreign nationals in all subjects taught at the University.

The five-month preparatory courses are conducted from October to February each academic year, while the accelerated courses are offered from March to May.

Upon completion of the course, participants’ knowledge is assessed on a 20-point grading scale. Those who successfully complete the program are awarded a certificate of the prescribed form, along with an accompanying certificate supplement.

To ensure the quality and content of the preparatory programs, each academic year an expert council for general education subjects is established and approved by order of the ASPU Rector.
