Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods after Vache Partizuni
The Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods after V. Partizuni was established in 2013, following the disengagement of the former Chair of Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods.

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia Sergey Sarinyan; corresponding member, PhD in Philological Sciences, Professor Sevak Arzumanyan; Doctors of Philological Sciences, Professors Yeghishe Petrosyan, Hektor Rshtuni, Avag Khachatryan, Martin Gilavyan, as well as Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Ashot Mkrtchyan have stood out in the Chair with their tremendous merit in science and pedagogy.

The Chair is under the direction of PhD in Philological Sciences, Professor Suren Danielyan, who is a member of the Scientific Council, which confers degrees in the system of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, as well as a member of the editorial boards of a number of scientific-methodical journals.

The Chair comprises six lecturers, including 1 Professor and 5 Associate Professors. The members of the Chair are involved in not only educational, but also scientific research activities.

The Chair also organizes post-graduate education (PhD).
As a leading organization, the Chair examines the dissertations submitted to the professional councils operating at Yerevan State University and the Institute of Literature after M. Abeghyan at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.

The Chair hosts republican, international and student scientific conferences a couple of times a year, and they are held with the participation of the leading representatives of universities in Armenia and scholars/pedagogues from the Armenian Diaspora. The results are summed up in the anthologies of materials.

The members of the Chair deliver speeches and articles at the scientific conferences organized by not only the University, but also other educational and scientific institutions of the country, and they are published in academic journals in Armenia and abroad. Most of the members are authors of textbooks and monographs.

The Chair cooperates with the Institute of Literature named after M. Abeghyan at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia; Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society; the Faculty of Armenian Philology at Yerevan State University; the Writers’ Union of Armenia; the Institute of Language named after H. Acharyan at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia; Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory; the National Library of Armenia; Tekeyan Cultural Association and various educational and cultural institutions in the Armenian Diaspora.
