The Chair of New and Modern Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods after Vache Partizuni was established on 17 May 2013 as a result of dissolution of the Chair of Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods. Today, it is considered a separate structural subdivision. The created Chair continues the traditions established by the joint Chair of Armenian Literature throughout decades.

Great was the contribution to the scientific and pedagogical activities of the Chair by Sevak Arzumanyan, Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor, a corresponding member of the RA National Academy of Sciences, Yeghishe Petrosyan, Hektor Rshtuni, Avag Khachatryan and Martin Gilavyan all Doctors of Science in Philology, Professors, and Ashot Mkrtchyan, Candidate of Science in Philology, Professor.
