KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Ahead of the end of the academic school year, the Chair of Music Education of the Faculty of Art Education of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) hosted a year-end concert.

The aim of the already traditional concert was to showcase the work done by the Chair of Music Education, as well as provide the best individual performers and groups with the opportunity to perform with the musician-pedagogues.

The concert featured performances of the works of great Armenian and international composers, including performances of the works of Komitas, Eduard Baghdasaryan, Arno Babajanyan, Aleksandr Spendiaryan, Eduard Abrahamyan, Chopin, Niccolò Paganini, Astor Piazzola, Sergey Rachmaninoff, Franz Liszt and other famous works by the vocal ensemble.

Acting Head of the Chair of Music Education Anna Harutyunyan views this year’s concert as academic, adding that whereas vocal performances were predominant in the previous years, this year the program included piano, violin, accordion performances and performances with other musical instruments.

The concert was held with warm rounds of applause, was highly appreciated by the audience and ended with performances of the works of Khachatur Avetisyan and Aleksandr Harutyunyan by the qanun players’ ensemble.

The students expressed gratitude to the professors for the sacred work and wished them great success in their creative work and in teaching.
