ASPU lecturers attend TEPMUS MathGeAr Project Workshop

Recently, lecturers of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics - Varazdat Vardazaryan, Gurgen Asatryan and Lusine Ghulghazaryan - participated in “Workshop on European STEM Curricula and Effective Math Teaching” held at Chemnitz University of Technology (TU Chemnitz) within the framework of TEMPUS MathGeAr Project (Modernization of Mathematics Curricula for Engineering and Natural Sciences in South Caucasian Universities by Introducing Modern Educational Technologies.

The overall objective of the three-year project (01.2014-12.2016) is to improve the quality of STEM education in South Caucasian region by modernizing and improving the curricula in the field of Mathematics.

During the workshop, the participants were introduced to OPAL and Math-Bridge – online platforms for bridging courses in Mathematics applied at TU Chemnitz. The platforms include material, adaptation techniques and mathematical learning objects that allow students to study the subject and find the necessary theoretical and practical material for the study period. These two platforms also enable to determine the level of students’ activeness in the process.
