ASPU Professor pays working visit to the USA

Khachatur Stepanyan, Head of the Chair of World History and its Teaching Methods at ASPU, participated in a panel discussion on “Armenians, Kurds, and the Early Turkish Republic” held at Columbia University on February 13.

Dr. Stepanyan’s report focused on “Relations between the Republic of Turkey and Soviet Armenia in the 1920s.”

The discussion organized by Khatchig Mouradian, a lecturer in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies at Columbia University, NY, and Armenian and Georgian Area dpecialist at the Library of Congress, also featured leading professors and researchers of universities of Akron, Newcastle and George Washington.

As part of his working visit to the USA, Khachatur Stepanyan also conducted research in the archives of the "Hayrenik" centre in Boston, with the direct assistance and support of the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research, Inc. (NAASR).

According to the agreement reached with the structure, the presentation of Professor Stepanyan’s works "The February Anti-Bolshevik Uprising of 1921" and "The Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Armenia in Persia 1919-1921" will be held in 2023. book presentation.
