KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

This year, the Chair of Psychology named after Academician Mkrtich Mazmanyan for the first time organized a students’ competition headed “Psychological Research” on the 100th anniversary of the ASPU. The aim of the competition was to expand students’ scope of interests and to trigger the sphere of scientific activities.

12 BA and MA students from the ASPU and the Artsakh State University participated in the “Psychological Research” competition. The research works referred to the studying a person’s emotional state in emergency situations, adaptation issues, peculiarities of professional activity, psychosomatic issues and their manifestation, causes of antisocial behavior, social-psychological mechanisms.

The committee highly praised the research activities conducted by the students and at the end handed participation certificates and professional literature to them.

In her turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Ruzanna Petrosyan emphasized the research component of the competition and expressed her hope that it would give them new opportunities to get well established in profession and to develop analytic thinking.

The Head of the Chair of Psychology named after Academician Mkrtich Mazmanyan Levon Sargsyan noted that conducting research work is highly important in the science of psychology worldwide and that this competition would help them to get skilled in conducting research in socio-psychological field and in meeting modern requirements of the profession.
