“Prayer is Not a Monologue”, Pastor Fr. Nshan

“The supreme goal of a prayer is to bring closer a human and the God, and this is possible with just a few words”, mentioned Pastor Fr. Nshan Alaverdyan during his meeting with the students and lecturers of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology and spoke about the importance of the aim, the power of and belief in prayers.

The Pastor mentioned with regret that majority of people abandoned praying, thinking that it was a monologue and that there was no answer to their prayers.

“We speak about belief, but we think least who we pray to, who we address our prayers to. A prayer is not a monologue, we are communicating with divine power when we pray”, he mentioned.

Likewise, Pastor Fr. Nshan Alaverdyan spoke about prayers in different religions and once again highlighted that Christianity is distinguished with its very important principle- it is the only religion that derives from a human being.

Quoting Grigor Narekatsi’s words, he once again emphasized that prayer is the breath of the soul; it is a meeting with the God that aims at keeping the latter in mind.

Among those present at the meeting was the Spiritual Responsible of Universities Deacon Gegham, who assured that similar meetings with clergymen would help young people to appreciate the influence of prayers, its impact and significance in the life of people.

And last but not least, the Lecturer of the Chair of Psychology Naira Harutyunyan explained the psychological influences of prayers and spoke about the scientific studies thereabout, as well as assured that in the process of praying a person better manages himself. Similarly, she referred to the new direction in medicine, a distant treatment through prayers, and introduced the results of a few experiments.
